Artist Statement
I am a visual artist that creates work that is first personal before pleasing, by using art as an outlet to express the innermost ideas that encompass who I am. From a young age I could never finish projects because of the speed I would find new hobbies and interest, this has followed me into my art as I tend to consider myself a multimedia artist, I find this the best way to characterize the way I express myself from photography, videography, music, and Needlework. Applying patch work and mending allows my art to be an emotional release by creating inner dialogs with imagery. The combination of textures, pattern, and colors represent the scattered thoughts housed in my mind that is then connected to make one composition. The subject of the human mind relates to my own inner turmoil dealing with A.D.D and using this as an art interest that makes me explore deeper in and outside of art. Most of my inspiration comes from the human psyche that I translate through various media such as watching interviews, interrogations and analysis of human behaviors. As I progress in my art and exploring new mediums, my mind refuses to be locked down to just one way of thinking and creating from the realm of photography, videography, and now fashion.
